Figawi 2025

    I was in touch with the Figawi RC and they are adding a NEMA class to the entry form next week. Hopefully we can get 3 boats signed up. There is another HYC member with a cat who will race.

    Hi Tom, 

    We put Fugawi on NEMA race calendar to encourage participation, but if you continue to push people to join, it would be the most effective way to get the 3 boats for the race. 

    NEMA race committee just got out of winter hibernation and had a first meeting on Monday. It will have another meeting in the second week of April to get over all submitted rating applications. In any case, you will get the rating well before the race start. 

    The race calendar is published now on NEMA website.

    This is what the Figawi site says:



    1. 4.2  A multihull class using PHRF or class rules will be provided if there is sufficient interest. A minimum of three boats are needed to provide a start.

    I forgot to add that we only need 3 multis to get a Figawi class for the race.

    I am in with my HH44 if I can get a rating. I also know of at least one other potential entry. Scott Bearse from my club, HYC, has a Dragonfly on order but I do not yet know if it will get here in time.

    Figawi 2025 (23-26MAY) date is set, and registration is about to open. If they have enough Multihull entrants then we’ll get classed. I’d like to participate. Anyone else interested? Thanks, Tom “Sonny Daze” Lahive
